Arch House

A young couple's dream home began as a comprehensive remodel and addition to a single level rambler in Richmond Beach, Shoreline. In the course of the design process, it was realized the single floor scheme could not meet the needs of the growing family. In the end, very little of the original home was retained, mostly due to the wish for consistent quality of construction.

The design influences for the residence span from local "coastal cottage" architecture and memories of a Victorian era home from the childhood of one of the owners, to tropical travel experiences shared by this family of kite surfers.
